FULL-TIME EFL COURSES
Immerse yourself in an intensive EFL course in Pretoria
English is one of the main keys to success in life. The full-time EFL courses offered by the Centre for Language Learning at the University of Pretoria (UP) are perfect for international students who are foreign language speakers. The courses run over two months with 180 hours of English class time, focused on listening and speaking skills. Six levels are offered every intake: beginner, elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, upper intermediate and IELTS preparation. The UP brand ensures that all courses are taught at the highest standards.
Our classes are small and student-focused. This means that we can identify exactly what you need to improve your level of English.
Our highly qualified and experienced teachers will inspire you to do well, and will provide you with all the support you need to achieve your goals.
EXCEPTIONAL COURSE MATERIAL
Our state-of-the-art internationally recognised course material is from National Geographic. It looks at cultural and environmental issues from countries around the world.

Each course runs over 8 weeks (09h00 to 13h30, Monday to Friday), with 180 contact hours per course. A certificate is awarded on the successful completion of each course.
SIX LEVELS OFFERED
Levels from beginner to IELTS preparation are offered every intake. The university reserves the right to charge a higher rate for small groups and private lessons.
Cost for 2022 is R10,400 per level. This cost works out to nearly half and in some cases one-third of the cost of many other language schools in South Africa.
Practise your speaking skills
Take the opportunity to practise your speaking and listening skills in real-life contexts. Our teachers will create realistic scenarios in which you can practise your English skills with their support. You will also have the opportunity to interact with university students, join clubs, and attend a few lectures. The University is encouraging international students to apply for postgraduate courses.
In addition to regular classes, you will be given the opportunity to go on day trips to local tourist attractions such as Gold Reef City. You will also be invited to travel to other provinces in South Africa to visit attractions such as the Kruger National Park and Sun City.
